SnapHet is a platform for learning Dutch. This page explains what we store and why. SnapHet is a beta product, so this policy can still change.
What we store
- Account details. When you create an account we store your email address and your name, through our sign-in provider Clerk, so you can find your saved words again.
- Profile photo. Only if you choose one. It is stored by Clerk and shown on your profile.
- Saved words and progress. The words you save, with how often you practised them, how you did and when you last saw them. We use this to choose what to practise next.
- Notifications. If you turn them on, we store the push token of that device so we can send a reminder. Turning them off in your phone settings removes it.
- Website statistics. Anonymous page statistics on snaphet.app through Google Analytics. The app itself has no analytics.
Who we share it with
We use outside services that process personal data on our behalf: Clerk (sign-in), Google Analytics (website statistics), Expo (notifications), YouTube (showing videos) and Railway (hosting).
We also use OpenAI to turn news articles and video transcripts into learning material. No personal data is sent for this.
Your rights
You can delete your account in the app, on the Profile tab. That removes your account, your saved words and your progress.
You can also ask us at any time what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it: privacy@snaphet.app
